PLEEEEEEASE help me...

okay, i have a compaq presario laptop computer at home. for the past two days, i have NOT been able to get internet access. i have a wireless router, and a DSL modem...my computer shows that i have a STRONG signal from my wireless network, yet i am not able to access the web. when i try to pull up Firefox (for example) i just get a blank screen, and then it times out and says 'cannot find server'...i have tried to 'fix the connection' thru the internet connections menu, i have reset the modem and router numerous times, and i have even re-booted my computer several times, yet i still cannot access the web...

does this sound like a network problem, or a computer problem? we used to have this issue when we were 'bogarding' our internet thru our neighbors wireless network, but after about a week of not being able to access the web (back then) we decided to get our own internet service, now we are having the SAME problem...

Did you pay your bill?

Can you access your wireless router? DO you have an IP address?

Go to start - run, then type cmd, once that comes up do ipconfig and see what it comes back with.

soonerfanAE, have you tried to plugging it into the router directly with a cable instead of wirelessly?

Try this method to see if the issue is your wireless network card.......if it does not work, then the issue may be your pc
